60 YEARS OF AMATEUR RADIO

W5GST Through K5CF

Welcome to my Web Page. Here you can learn how I've worked the World via Amateur Radio, by voice, by Morse Code, RTTY and other digital modes.

I was first licensed as W5GST October 12, 1937. I have held numerous other calls since then, having moved around the country. Now I'm K5CF. In the days gone by I've used a variety of equipment including transmitters I've built myslf and store bought radios.

From 1941 to 1949 I was a Flight Radio Officer with Pan American World Airways. I flew out of Brownsville, TX, New Orleans, LA and San Francisco, CA. I have been in radio and electronics all my life: Broadcast Engineer, PAA, Eimac as a Electronic Technition, KRON-TV Engineer and 18 years with Ampex Corporation as a Senior Field Service Engineer and Office Manager.
